๐Ÿ‘‹ About me

Hi! Iโ€˜m Lucien, and Iโ€™m currently pursuing a PhD at Abbelight in collaboration with Universitรฉ Paris-Saclay. My path started in physics at the Technical University of Munich where I gradually transitioned toward biophysics and image analysis. Before starting my PhD, I completed my Masterโ€™s thesis at the EMBL European Molecular Biology Laboratory, focusing on applications of deep learning in microscopy. In my PhD, I now combine my background in physics, biology and computer science to push the frontiers of whatโ€™s possible in biological imaging.

My project focuses on characterizing ๐„๐ฑ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ซ ๐•๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐œ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ (๐„๐•๐ฌ) by combining ๐’๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ-๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Œ๐ข๐œ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐œ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฒ (๐’๐‘๐Œ) and ๐ˆ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐…๐ฅ๐จ๐ฐ ๐‚๐ฒ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ (๐ˆ๐…๐‚). EVs are becoming increasingly relevant for diagnostics and therapeutics, and our goal is to develop a new imaging modality that combines the high resolution of SRM with the high throughput of IFC. Achieving this could enable more sensitive cancer detection and better quality assessment of EV-based therapies.

โœจ Something personal

In my free time I love to play boardgames. Those big ones that take up your entire table and entire afternoon. I enjoy learning new games and I definitely spend way too much time on Youtube watching explanations of games Iโ€™ll probably never buy. Besides that, I love spending time in nature and definitely miss the mountains and lakes of my hometown.
